NeatDesk ND-1000 Desktop Scanner Home Office Edition Filing System For PC & Mac. Was used less than 5 times. In excellent condition. The Neat Receipts scanner software and drivers are separate from Neat Receipts itself. As long as you have the scanner drivers installed on your machine, the Neat scanner will work with other programs, like FileCenter Receipts. In fact, this makes it even easier to move away from Neat Receipts.
The Neat for Mac legacy software was retired in 2016 and has not received any updates or feature enhancements since that time. For this reason, it was inevitable that it would eventually cease to function in updated versions of Mac. The Neat for Mac software does not open or function correctly in Mac OS 10.15 Catalina but you can follow the steps below if you need to recover your Neat Library data in Catalina. Once recovered, you'll also be able to upload your data to the current version of Neat.
Note: Any metadata (customized categories, notes, folders & etc) will not export to your files. Only PDF files of the original scanned images will be recovered.
- Before starting the export process, create a folder on your Desktop, called Neat Exports. This will help in keeping your data organized.
- Click on the magnifying glass (Finder) in the upper right of your screen. Type 'Neat Library' to locate the file containing your Neat data. It will show an orange filing cabinet icon.
- Control-Click (right-click if enabled) the Neat Library and select Show Package Contents.
- A window will open displaying your scanned images as PDF files along with a few Neat software-related files.
- Copy the PDF files to the Neat Exports folder you created in Step 1 in order to view and work with the scanned images in PDF format.
- If you're currently subscribed to Neat, you can also import the PDF files into your Neat cloud account. If you wish to recover the items (with your notes, folders, custom columns, etc.) please log into app.neat.com to contact support as it will be necessary to transfer a copy of the Neat Library file to another Mac running OS 10.12 - 10.14 where the Neat for Mac software is able to function.

Neat Scanner Driver Mac
Before You Begin If you installed a version of Neat on your computer, your scanner driver may already be installed on your computer. If your driver does not appear to be installed, you can download the appropriate driver below.
Download Scanner Drivers for Windows
- Find your scanner model number by looking on the underside (bottom) of the scanner.
- Unplug your scanner and close Neat on your computer.
- Click your scanner model number in the chart below to download the drivers. - Once you download the file, extract the MSI file to the desktop, and double click on it to run the driver installer. Once this installer has finished, you should be able to use the scanner with the Neat application. You can delete the MSI once installation is complete.

Please Note: Neat supports MacOS Mojave 10.14 as well as two (2) major releases back - High Sierra 10.13 and Sierra 10.12. Neat Scanner Drivers may work for older OS versions but agent support is not provided on older OS versions.
Neat Scanner Driver Software
- Find your scanner model number by looking on the underside (bottom) of the scanner.
- Unplug your scanner and close Neat on your computer.
- Click the link for your scanner model number in the list below to download the driver: NC-1000, ND-1000, or NM-1000 (the same driver file is used for all three models)
- Select the Finder icon from your Dock. The Finder has the blue smiling face icon.
- Open the Go menu and select the Go To Folder option.
- Copy and paste the following path in the Go To Folder window to open the directory: /Library/Image Capture/Devices
- Unzip the driver file you downloaded in step three and drag it into this folder. It should look similar to the image below:
- To start using the scanner:
- If you are 10.10 or earlier, you can open Neat and connect your scanner and you should now be able to start scanning.
- If you are on 10.11 El Capitan, follow the steps below:
- Right click (or CTRL + click) the Scanner Driver file that you dragged into the Devices folder and choose Open. If you see the following message click Open again. You will only have to do this once to allow the driver permission to run. Reboot your computer, and then to try scanning.
